Air conditioning service & repair

Why it matters

Why your air con needs servicing

Air conditioning has stopped being a luxury and become something UK homes actually rely on through the summer. But like any system with a refrigerant circuit, filters and a compressor, it quietly loses efficiency if it’s left alone.

Skip servicing and three things happen. Filters clog and the unit works harder for the same cooling, pushing up your electricity bill. Small refrigerant losses go unnoticed until the unit can’t hold temperature on the hottest day of the year. And most manufacturer warranties require documented annual servicing miss it, and a compressor or PCB failure becomes a bill you pay in full.

An annual service catches all of that before it becomes your problem. If your unit also heats your home in winter, a second seasonal check keeps it reliable in both directions.

Pick the cover that matches how you use it.

Every plan below covers one indoor unit and its outdoor unit. Most homes have a single split like this. If you have a multi-split system several indoor units running from one outdoor unit just add each extra indoor unit when you book. You only ever pay for the outdoor unit once.

All plans are for homeowners. Landlords and housing providers, ask about our tailored packages.

How many indoor units do you have? Count the wall or ceiling units inside your home — the box on the outside wall is the outdoor unit, and that’s already covered. Not sure? Tell us the make and model on 0333 050 2091 and we’ll work it out with you.

Add-ons

Refrigerant regas & leak repair

If your unit can’t hold temperature, it’s usually running low on refrigerant and low refrigerant means a leak, not just an empty tank. Topping a leaking system up on repeat is a false economy, and by law we have to find and fix the leak, not paper over it.

So we do it properly: locate the leak, repair it, then recharge the system to the manufacturer’s spec and document it for your F-Gas records. Once it’s holding pressure, it stays cold.

Regas from £100 per system the exact cost depends on your refrigerant type (R32, R410A) and how much the system holds. We’ll always give you the honest number before we start.

Add this to a service visit and there’s no second call-out charge.

Good to know

Air con servicing, answered

Once a year is the minimum for a cooling-only unit, ideally in spring before the summer. If your unit also heats your home in winter, we recommend two seasonal checks a year to keep it reliable in both modes.

Yes. Any work involving the refrigerant circuit must, by law, be carried out by an F-Gas certified engineer. All of ours are.

In most cases, yes the majority of manufacturers require documented annual servicing as a condition of warranty. We keep your service record so you’re covered.

Every plan covers one indoor unit and the outdoor unit it runs from. If you have a multi-split system with several indoor units on one outdoor unit, you add each extra indoor unit to your plan the outdoor unit is only counted once, so extra rooms cost less than you’d expect. Tell us how many indoor units you have and we’ll price it exactly.

We can recharge it, but low refrigerant means a leak, and the law requires us to find and repair that leak rather than keep topping it up. We’ll locate the fault, fix it, then regas to spec and log it for your records so it actually stays cold.

That’s exactly what our Home & Climate plan is for. One team services your heat pump before winter and your air con before summer, on a single discounted plan.

Yes servicing, repairs and call-outs. Plan holders get priority booking and a discount on repair work.
