Heat Pump Service Darwen

Your Heat Pump Needs Attention Once a Year

It’s easy to forget about a heat pump. There’s no flame to worry about, no annual gas safety certificate, no visible sign that anything might be slipping. But underneath that quiet exterior, components are wearing, settings are drifting, and your system is gradually working harder than it needs to.

An annual service resets all of that. Our engineer will go through your system thoroughly, checking that heating and hot water schedules are configured properly, inspecting the expansion vessel, cleaning circuit filters, testing every valve for freedom of movement, verifying refrigerant levels, and examining electrical connections. They’ll also assess your system’s yield performance to confirm it’s producing the output it should be for the energy it’s consuming.

There’s a financial side to this as well. Virtually all heat pump manufacturers require proof of annual servicing to keep your warranty intact. It’s written into the terms and conditions. If you skip a year and something significant goes wrong afterwards, the manufacturer won’t cover it. Compressor replacements alone can run to well over a thousand pounds.

Service Plans That Take the Hassle Away

Nobody wants to remember service dates or chase around for engineers. That’s exactly why we set up our plan structure. You choose a level of cover, we handle the scheduling, and your heat pump gets looked after without you having to think about it.

Our Essential plan is £249 per year and covers the annual service itself. The Standard plan adds parts cover up to £250 and is available monthly at £30.75. Premium wraps in labour as well. And the Ultimate plan goes the whole way, including a Homely smart thermostat and 24/7 remote monitoring on top of everything else.

That monitoring system is worth a closer look. It connects to your heat pump and adjusts it automatically based on live weather forecasts and smart electricity tariffs. Independent testing carried out at Salford Energy Labs found that homeowners using it saved up to £444 per year on energy bills. For a lot of people in Darwen, the thermostat pays for the plan and then some.

If your service isn’t due for a while yet, set a free reminder and we’ll drop you a note when the time comes.

When Something Goes Wrong

Heat pumps are well built machines, but they’re not maintenance free. A drop in hot water temperature, unusual sounds from the outdoor unit, error messages on the controller, or rooms that won’t warm up properly are all things we see regularly. The best approach is to get it looked at quickly rather than hoping the problem sorts itself out.

Because we’re based so close to Darwen, we can often get an engineer to you faster than anyone else. Our repairs and call-out service covers the full Blackburn with Darwen borough and the wider Lancashire area. We handle all the main brands and work across air source, hybrid, exhaust air, and ground source systems.
